7th and 6th grades sing a song by The Beatles. 6to y 7mo. cantan una canción de los Beatles.

Hoy con los chicos de 7mo. dimos una clase abierta con la presencia de los padres en donde teatralizamos escenas en un supermercado: las secciones, nombres de productos, cómo preguntar dónde encontrarlos, diálogo entre cliente y repositor y entre clientes y cajeros, y descripción de envases. Today with the 7th grade students we had an open class with the presence of their parents. In this class the kids dramatized different scenes at a supermarket: sections, name of products, where to find them, dialogues between customers and the stock boy, and among customers and cashiers, besides description of containers.

7th grade: Containers and quantities. We reviewed names of food and learnt names for the containers. And in Grammar we studied countable and uncountable nouns. 7mo. grado: Envases y cantidades. Repasamos nombres de comidas y aprendimos nombres de los envases. Y en Gramática estudiamos sustantivos contables y no contables.

6th grade: Fiction. We studied fictional characters like Gollum, and the parts of his body!. 6to. grado: Fantasía. Estudiamos personajes de ficción como Gollum y las partes de su cuerpo!.

5to. grado: estudiamos las partes del cuerpo de un dinosaurio en el marco de la unidad titulada EL RINCON DE LOS MONSTRUOS. 5th. grade: we studied the parts of a dinosaur's body in the framework of the unit named MONSTER CORNER.

5to. Grado: Vimos "Wallace y Gromit: La batalla de los vegetales". Después, como parte de las tareas complementarias a la proyección de la película, creamos nuestra propia poción para obtener vegetales más grandes y dibujamos un personaje con una prenda en forma de vegetal. 5th. Grade: We watched "Wallace and Gromit: the curse of the were-rabbit". After screening the film, we created our own magic potion to obtain huge vegetables and we drew one of the characters from the film wearing a vegetable outfit.

Con los alumnos de estos dos grados trabajamos cuestiones relacionadas a la geografía y civilización de Brasil. Una de las preguntas fue: "Nombre a tres personas famosas de Brasil y sus profesiones". Una alumna de sexto mencionó a Cauá Reymond, el protagonista de la telenovela brasileña "Avenida Brasil". Muy gracioso!.

With these two courses we worked on aspects related to the Brazilian geography and civilization. One of the questions was: "Name three famous Brazilian people and their professions". A student from the 6th grade mentioned Cauá Reymond, the main actor of the Brazilian soap opera "Avenida Brasil". Very funny!.

Recortamos una noticia del Buenos Aires Herald, la pegamos, y aprendimos las partes que la componen: titular, copete, cuerpo, fotografía, epígrafe.

We cut a piece of news from the Buenos Aires Herald, glued the piece and learnt the different parts of it: headline, standfirst, body, photo, caption.

Una de las consignas para este año de parte de la supervisión de Inglés ha sido mantener a nuestros alumnos escribiendo, tanto como sea posible, a lo largo de todo el año, de acuerdo con el nivel de cada grado. Entonces con 5to. grado preparamos este poster con sobres. Los alumnos pueden escribir e intercambiar mensajes cortos entre si. El profesor recoge los mensajes de los sobres cada tanto, se corrije, los alumnos escriben una versión corregida y los pegamos en una carpeta, tanto la versión corregida como la que tenía errores. 

One of the instructions from the English language supervisor this year was to keep our students writing as much as possible, during the whole year, according to the level of each course. So with the 5th grade we made this poster with envelopes. The students write and exchange short messages with each other. The teacher collects the messages from the envelopes once in a while, corrects them, the kids write a corrected version and we stick them in a folder, both the corrected version and the one with the mistakes.

With the students of the 6th and 7th grade we studied the biographies of Generals San Martin and Mariano Necochea, in the context of an articulation project with the grade's teachers which entwines the lives and heritage of these two heroes.

Con los estudiantes del 6to. y 7mo. grado estudiamos las biografías de los Generales San Martín y Mariano Necochea, en el contexto de un proyecto de articulación con los maestros de grado que entrelaza las vidas y el legados de estos dos héroes.

6to. y 7mo. grado: Proyecto Hemeroteca. 6th. and 7th.grade: Project Newspaper Library.

En este proyecto trabajamos con material auténtico. En las primeras clases aprendimos las diferentes secciones de un diario en y las diferentes partes de una noticia, en inglés.

In this project we worked with authentic material. In the first lessons we learnt the different sections of a newspaper and the different parts of a piece of news, in English.

5to. Grado: Proyecto "Mi escuela saludable". 5th. grade: Project: "My healthy school".

Estudiamos los grupos de alimentos, y preparamos este hermoso poster!
We studied food groups, and we prepared this beautiful poster!

With the 5th grade students we began 2014 with a revision of topics from last year, e.g. food and drinks. We included drama in one of our classes: one student was the customer and the other was the waiter. The customer ordered something and the waiter made a mistake, so he had to apologize. It was fun!.

Con los alumnos de 5to. grado comenzamos 2014 con una revisión de temas del año pasado, por ej. comida y bebidas. Incluimos teatralizaciones en una de nuestras clases: un estudiante era el cliente o la clienta y el otro el camarero o camarera.  El cliente o clienta pedía algo y el camarero o camarera cometía un error, de modo que debía disculparse. ¡Fue divertido!.

Make your own volcano !!

7mo. grado: Con la docente de grado los estudiantes hicieron un experimento: crearon su propio volcán!.
Los padres participaron de esta hermosa experiencia.
Desde la materia Inglés aprovechamos la experiencia y aprendimos las partes del volcán en inglés: cráter, cono, corteza, magma, lava, ceniza y humo.

7th grade: The students made an experiment with their teacher: they made their own volcano!.
Parents participated in this beautiful experience.
And in the subject English we took advantage of it to learn the parts of a volcano: crater, cone, crust, magma, lava, ash and smoke.
